OVERVIEW
Into the Carrion Deep is a first-person underwater survival horror Capstone game project
developed by a 14-person student team at the University of Utah.
I worked as the Art Lead and Technical / Environment Artist,
contributing to the game's visual direction and environment production
while developing procedural workflows and tools for the team.

01 Environment Art & Art Direction
As Art Lead, I helped establish the game's visual direction
while building and assembling environments across multiple phases of production.

Phase 2 Interior Environment Scene

Phase 3 Exterior Environment Scene

02 Procedural Environment Tools
I developed procedural Houdini workflows to support environment production,
including terrain generation and reusable rock assets for the underwater environment.

1) Rock Generator
I created a procedural rock generator in Houdini
and packaged it as an HDA for quickly producing
rock variations for the environment.

2) Terrain Generation
The canyon terrain was built procedurally using
Houdini HeightFields, combining layered shaping, masks, terracing, noise, and erosion to establish
the primary landscape forms.

03 Level Assembly & Lighting
I contributed to assembling the final environments in Unreal Engine,
integrating environment assets, procedural elements, and lighting to establish
the atmosphere and visual composition of the playable spaces.
